Richard & Emma
Westwood, Longlands pupils from 1979 to 1984, are now married and live in Dubai.
They first met on the
step of Mr Fraser's math's classroom. If the Longlands
buildings are eventually demolished, Richard and Emma hope to acquire the
step for their garden.
Poem suggested by Joan Baggott, Longlands
pupil 1953 to 1957
Great time.
Karen Newman, 1974+
What a great
day!
Paul Bissell, 1973-8
Thanks for
letting us come back!
Geraldine Fox,
1979-84
Brilliant day! Thanks to everyone for
coming. We hope it brought back some pleasant memories and helped
you catch up with old friends.

Who did you see at the reunion? Anyone you would have
like to have met up with again? Your thoughts on the
fate of the school now that it is to be mothballed. Post your messages here.
We lost count of the number of people who
came to the reunion, but it surely ran into many hundreds - possibly even a
thousand or so. There were even visitors from as far away as Dubai and
Canada! I think it all made a fitting goodbye to the old
buildings. It certainly stands as a testament to both the school and
the staff who have worked there over the years.
Acknowledgements and Thanks
I am very grateful to Mags Winthrop, Stourbridge
College's Communications Coordinator, and to Margot James MP for
helping to make this reunion possible.
Shane Whittaker
from Canada
Shane,
originally from Australia, came to Stourbridge as a child. He
attended Longlands in the 1970s; and after leaving in 1976, he
eventually moved to Canada. We're glad to say Shane came all the way
back to Stourbridge for the reunion!
We need your photos!
